Kimara Targoff awarded a grant from the Congenital Heart Defect Coalition

Kimara Targoff, MD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, was awarded a grant from the Congenital Heart Defect Coalition for her project entitled “Mechanisms of cardiomyocyte renewal regulated by Nkx2.5".  The purpose of this study is to define the cellular and molecular functions regulated by Nkx genes that underlie NKX2-5-dependent congenital heart defects and that mediate the roles Nkx genes play in cardiomyocyte renewal. The mission of Congenital Heart Defect Coalition is to improve the quality of life for all affected by congenital heart defects and support studies for life-saving research.
