The 1st CSCI Retreat Was A Great Success!
The first overnight CSCI retreat was held April 30th - May 1st 2018 at the scenic Pocono Manor in the Poconos, Pennsylvania, attended by 90 faculty, postdoctoral scientists, and students from the 45 Full and Affiliate member labs. The successful two-day off-site scientific and networking event included 20 scientific presentations, a poster session/contest and reception with 22 participants, a DJ/karaoke party, a group hike and a tête a tête discussion with the director. The winners of the poster contest selected by attending faculty were Sara Viragova from Piero Dalerba’s lab, Masayuki Yamashita from Emmanuelle Passegué’s lab and Matthew Decker from Lei Ding’s lab. Attendees enjoyed the escape from the city, the opportunity to learn of stem cell related work on campus, to mingle with and get to know members from other labs, and to further build the CSCI community.
